 SUD Care\nIncrease awareness of racial and gender literacy in pain managem
 ent and identify health disparities across the pain management and substan
 ce use disorder continuum of care. This module highlights communication st
 rategies that support equitable outcomes and explores how thoughtful medic
 al documentation can address social determinants of health to improve trea
 tment accessibility and effectiveness.\n Strategies for Improving Maternal
  and Infant Health Related to Opioid Use\nRecognize the importance of evid
 ence-based interventions to treat opioid use disorder (OUD) during pregnan
 cy to optimize outcomes for both mother and infant. Examine how stigma aff
 ects access to and delivery of care for pregnant and postpartum individual
 s living with OUD. Identify strategies to assess opioid use disorder in pr
 egnant and postpartum patients and provide appropriate referrals for evalu
 ation and treatment. Review key care considerations for pregnant and postp
 artum individuals and infants diagnosed with neonatal abstinence syndrome 
 (NAS) and neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome (NOWS)\, with a focus on coo
 rdinated\, compassionate\, and evidence-based care across the continuum.\n
