Dr. John will serve one year as vice president. Afterwards, he becomes president-elect for one year. In October 2019, he’ll take over as president of the statewide organization.
Dr. John was elected to the position of vice president during the organization’s annual statewide meeting held this year in Hershey, Pa., on October 14. He begins his new position immediately.
A 39-year member of PAMED, he is currently chair of the board of trustees at the Allegheny County Medical Society (ACMS). He is also a past president of ACMS, and has held numerous positions with the organization. Most notable at ACMS, Dr. John leads its Primary Care Coalition to address issues affecting primary care physicians and to encourage more young physicians to choose a primary care specialty.
In addition, he holds memberships in the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Practice, and American Board of Family Medicine.
In 2017, Pittsburgh Magazine named Dr. John as one of “Pittsburgh’s Best Doctors.”
Dr. John practices with Drs John Chantz Biedrzycki & Associates – UPMC, and is licensed in both Pennsylvania and Ohio. He is affiliated with UPMC St. Margaret’s Hospital, and is a clinical instructor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
He earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.
