In public health, progress rarely happens in isolation. It happens when people come together, including clinicians, administrators, community organizations, researchers, and decisionmakers, to share insights, confront challenges, and spark new ideas. That is the driving force behind the ACHD Public Health Symposium: a gathering designed to strengthen the collective impact of our healthcare and public health community.
That idea is at the heart of the Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) Public Health Symposium, taking place Monday, November 16, 2026, at the Monroeville Convention Center.
ACHD created the Public Health Symposium to strengthen collaboration across the region’s healthcare and public health communities. Our county faces complex challenges, including chronic disease, behavioral health needs, environmental impacts, and health inequities that require shared solutions and stronger partnerships.
This event brings clinicians, public health professionals, and community organizations together to discuss emerging trends, exchange data and best practices, and build connections that support coordinated action.
For physicians and healthcare providers, these conversations are especially important. The issues shaping community health also shape clinical outcomes. By working more closely with public health, healthcare partners can help drive upstream change that improves patient care and overall community well-being.
The symposium is intended to be more than a single day of conversation. It is part of a broader effort to encourage ongoing collaboration among the people and organizations working to improve health throughout Allegheny County.
The ACHD Public Health Symposium will be held Monday, November 16, at the Monroeville Convention Center. Those interested in attending can register for the symposium or learn more through the Allegheny County Public Health Symposium event page.
