ACMS Membership

Since 1865, the Allegheny County Medical Society has been the local membership organization for Physicians. With some of the biggest healthcare systems in the country right in our backyard, the ACMS provides a common ground for physicians in Allegheny County, across a range of specialties and health systems, to discuss health care issues of the day and work for the good of the profession and the public.

Whether you are joining for the first time or renewing your membership, thank you for being a part of the Allegheny County Medical Society. Your county medical society is here as a local resource to advocate for the issues that are specific to Physicians in Western Pennsylvania. Your membership includes local training and events, networking opportunities, local and regional benefits and discounts, and leadership opportunities at a board and committee level.

ACMS members receive additional networking opportunities and connections through the Pennsylvania Medical Society. ACMS Membership and PAMED Membership is a dual membership (when joining PAMED you must join your County, and to belong to a county society you must also be a member of PAMED). Membership applications are handled exclusively through the Pennsylvania Medical Society (PAMED) website.

To Join the Allegheny County Medical Society – please visit PAMED’s site, create an account, and apply for membership to both ACMS and PAMED.

ACMS Membership is available to allopathic (MD) and osteopathic (DO) physicians residing or practicing in Allegheny County, who are in good moral and professional standing. Membership is also available to residents, fellows, medical students, and practice managers.
