As you begin your career in medicine, cost should never be a barrier to access to information and resources. That’s why your ACMS membership will remain FREE for the duration of your training. If you are a Medical Student, Resident, or Fellow, visit the PAMED website to join.*
*For the 2024 membership year, PAMED membership for students will be $5 and membership for residents is $20. These costs are directly associated with your membership to the Pennsylvania Medical Society.
2024 ACMS and PAMED student and resident membership dues are being subsidized by the Allegheny County Medical Society.
The Allegheny County Medical Society maintains a longstanding tradition of offering free membership to the county medical society for the duration of medical training. We are dedicated to upholding this tradition at the county level. However, last year, a dues allocation was introduced for your Pennsylvania Medical Society membership for the year 2024 ($5 for students and $20 for residents). At a recent ACMS board meeting, it was decided to subsidize the PAMED portion of student and resident dues for the current membership year. This decision underscores our commitment to supporting our members and ensuring equitable access to the benefits of organized medicine.
Instructions for Renewal
The process for renewal will take less than 3 minutes of your time. Simply click this link and you will be taken to a jotform. Once you are on the page, you will begin entering the necessary information and you will toggle the button towards to bottom of the screen asking if you are looking to “join” Allegheny County Medical Society. The answer is YES (of, course!). You will complete this form, hit submit, and the PAMED team will complete your renewal.

The Foundation of the Pennsylvania Medical Society is pleased to administer the ACMS Medical Student Scholarship for medical students who reside in Allegheny County. This scholarship is made possible by contributions from the ACMS Foundation, which established the fund within the Foundation to assist local students with the cost of attending a Pennsylvania medical school.
Eligibility:
- Applicant must be a United States citizen.
- Applicant must be a resident of Allegheny County in the state of Pennsylvania for at least 12 months prior to registering as a medical student (not including time spent attending an undergraduate or graduate school in Pennsylvania).
- Applicant must be enrolled full-time in a fully accredited Pennsylvania medical school.
- Applicant must be enrolled in or entering his/her third or fourth year of medical school.
- Applicant cannot be a past recipient of the Allegheny County Medical Society Medical Student Scholarship
- Applicant must be a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society (membership is free for medical students); click here to join if you are not already a member.
