Events & Programs
The events are the first in a growing series of wellness-focused events.
ACMS offers small, physician-focused programs that support professional judgment, reflection, and connection. These experiences complement confidential support services and create space for meaningful peer engagement.
Well-being is most effective when it emerges through experience. These programs create the conditions where focus, connection, and restoration occur organically.
Boundaries and Professional Judgement in Modern Practice
- March 26, 2026
- 6:00–8:00 PM
- Cadence Speakeasy | 2400 Smallman Street, Pittsburgh
- Let's explore how clinicians make boundary and access decisions when there’s no clear rulebook. The conversation surfaces how peers approach common gray areas, helping participants sharpen judgment, gain language for difficult calls, and feel less alone in decisions they already carry. Moderated. No slides. Dinner included.
From Garden to Table
- June 17th, 2026
- 6:00–8:00 PM
- Phipps Convervatory | 1 Schenley Dr, Pittsburgh
- This hands-on cooking experience provides sustained, skill-based focus with visible outcomes, a sharp contrast to the abstract and fragmented nature of clinical work. Working through a shared task from start to finish reinforces competence, sequencing, and attention in a way that is hard to achieve alone or in short bursts at home. The value lies in uninterrupted process and shared execution.
An Evening in Art and Shared Community
Held in recognition of Physician Suicide Awareness Day
- September 17, 2026
- 6:00–8:30 PM
- Mattress Factory Contemporary Art Museum | 509 Jacksonia St, Pittsburgh
- A shared dinner and educator-led tour of contemporary art at the Mattress Factory. The guided experience adds context and insight, making the art more engaging and accessible, with time for conversation throughout. Thoughtful, social, and a refreshingly different night out.
Where Music Meets Story: The Opera Experience
- October 16, 2026
- Timing to be announced
- Benedum Center for the Performing Arts | 237 7th St, Pittsburgh
- This opera experience provides uninterrupted narrative immersion in a live performance setting, something increasingly difficult to access independently. The structure of the evening creates sustained attention and cognitive continuity, allowing music and story to unfold without distraction. What you gain is coherence and depth of focus that is rarely available in daily professional or personal routines.
