Module 1: Pain Management Guidelines

Review the aims of the CDC Clinical Practice Guideline, understand the rationale for revising the 2016 recommendations, and explore the 2022 updates with a strong emphasis on individualized, patient-centered care.

Module 2: Pain Management Assessment & Informed Clinical Decision-Making

Implement a collaborative, stepped-care approach informed by the biopsychosocial model of pain. Topics include comprehensive patient assessment, opioid initiation considerations, nonopioid medication options, nonpharmacologic therapies, use of the Pennsylvania Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP), and trends in controlled substance dispensing in Pennsylvania.
