Join us for an in-depth Zoom education session focused on evidence-based pain management strategies and updated clinical guidance. This two-module program will provide practical tools and insights to support safe, patient-centered care in today’s evolving clinical landscape.

Module 3: Opioid Treatment for Pain Management

Examine the critical factors involved in determining whether to initiate opioids, including risk-benefit analysis. Review opioid selection and dosing considerations, when to prescribe immediate-release versus extended-release/long-acting opioids, and how to develop collaborative, patient-centered tapering plans while avoiding abrupt discontinuation.

Module 4: Identifying and Addressing Substance Use Impacts with SBIRT

Explore the role of substance use screening in risk assessment, diagnosis of opioid and stimulant use disorders, and delivery of brief interventions using the FRAMES model. Participants will also review strategies to support patients with substance use, treatment options, referral pathways, and available clinician mentorship and training resources.
