Module 5: Enhancing Patient-Clinician Communication
Learn how empathetic, respectful communication improves patient outcomes. This module covers motivational interviewing (MI), shared decision-making techniques, integrating patient values and goals into treatment plans, and strategies for navigating chronic pain and substance use treatment challenges.
Module 6: Pennsylvania Overdose Trends & Harm Reduction
Review Pennsylvania opioid overdose surveillance data, mortality and morbidity trends, and the principles of harm reduction. Participants will identify practical strategies to integrate harm reduction into clinical practice and expand access to naloxone and related services.
